This shot of Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS (C/2023 A3) was taken Oct. 14 from the southern flank of Mount Etna in Piano Vetore at an elevation of 5,700 feet (1750 m). The different hues come from the two tails — one of dust (orange-yellow in this shot) and one of ions (blue). The imager used a 2.4-inch refractor and a cooled CMOS camera to take 25 one-minute subframes.
