Telesat has signed a $39 million contract with SatixFy for Landing Station Baseband Units to be used with Telesat’s Lightspeed Network.
According to Telesat, “SatixFy will design, develop, and supply Landing Station Baseband systems to Telesat, with deliveries taking place over a 28-month period. These systems will enable high-speed and efficient communication between the Telesat Lightspeed Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites and the Landing Stations.”
The contract comes less than two weeks after Telesat awarded a contract to Intellian to supply 127 gateway antenna systems for use with Lightspeed.

Telesat is planning to have its initial 198 Lightspeed LEO satellites launching by mid-2026.
