This artist's illustration shows Japan's Hayabusa 2 touching down on the asteroid 1998 KY26. The spacecraft will rendezvous with the small asteroid in 2031, but new observations suggest that may not be possible. Image Credit: ESO/M. Kornmesser. Asteroid: T. Santana-Ros et al. Hayabusa 2 may need to alter its visit to its next target. VLT observations show that the asteroid 1998 KY26 is three times smaller than thought and spinning much more rapidly.
