A Region in Motion
The global space sector is evolving faster than ever, with new technologies, shifting geopolitics, and fresh investment cycles redefining what “doing space” means. Amid this transformation, Latin America is quietly but firmly finding its place.
Across the region, new initiatives are reshaping the landscape: Mexico is redefining its national space entity, Brazil is expanding its launch and Earth observation capabilities, Colombia is pairing AI and satellite data to protect the Amazon, and Peru is preparing its first spaceport.
Beyond the headlines, this reflects a broader ambition, to use space as a tool for sovereignty, development, and universal access. Connectivity in remote regions, environmental monitoring, and defense modernization are now integral parts of national strategies.
At the heart of this growing momentum stands LATSAT 2025, the region’s premier space and satellite conference, organized by Novaspace. Held in Bogotá, Colombia, on November 19–20, 2025, the event will bring together over 300 government officials, executives, and innovators to discuss the region’s expanding role in the global space economy.
High-Level Government Participation
Reflecting Colombia’s strong commitment to connectivity and innovation, Gloria Patricia Perdomo Rangel, Vice Minister of Connectivity at the Ministry of ICT (MinTIC), will officially open the summit. Her participation underscores the strategic importance of satellite connectivity to bridge the digital divide and support sustainable growth across the region.
Government representation will also include key national and regional agencies such as the Brazilian Space Agency (AEB/MCTI), Peruvian Air Force, Mexican Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT), and Argentina’s ARSAT. Together, these institutions will explore how space capabilities are being integrated into public policy, national security, and economic development strategies.
Driving Dialogue Across Critical Themes
LATSAT 2025’s two-day agenda will feature in-depth sessions addressing the opportunities and challenges driving the region’s space expansion. Discussion topics will include:

A Strategic Platform for Collaboration
Beyond the sessions, LATSAT provides a unique environment for business development and cross-sector collaboration. The event facilitates direct interaction between regional operators, government representatives, technology vendors, and global investors seeking to engage with one of the fastest-evolving markets in the world.
With the acceleration of initiatives such as Brazil’s launch programs, Colombia’s national satellite ambitions, and the growing role of AI in environmental and agricultural monitoring, Latin America is poised to become a strategic hub for sustainable and inclusive space development.
