The best UCS Lego Star Wars sets ranked

After reviewing a whole host of Lego Star Wars sets over the years, we have come up with the definitive run-down of the best Ultimate Collector Series sets credits can buy.

Here, you’ll find the best of the best Lego Star Wars sets, designed with collectors in mind. The sets on this page typically have higher piece counts, are larger and, unfortunately, cost more than the average Lego set, but that’s with good reason.

1. UCS Millennium Falcon

Until October 2025, the UCS Millennium Falcon was the largest Lego Star Wars set you could get your hands on, both in terms of piece count and dimensions. Despite being usurped as the biggest, it’s still the best thanks to its stunning detail, the number of features within the set and the fact that it is a complete ship (more on that in the next entry on this page).

Our review of the Lego Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon praises the set’s detail, scale, size and how enjoyable the overall build was. It has features like removable hull panels, cockpits to fit minifigures inside, blaster canons, escape pod hatches, rotating laser canons, seven standing legs and so much more.

The only downside to this set is that we don’t get more. The minifigure selection is good — you get Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, C3PO and favorites from the sequel trilogy, but of course, we want more! Then there’s the price tag; there’s no getting away from that. But now that the new UCS Death Star has been released, we hope to see this set fall in price, as this is undoubtedly the centerpiece model to round off any Lego collection.

2. UCS Death Star

So, here we are. $1000 for a Lego set (well, $999.99) prices a lot of people out of ever owning this set. It’s a collector’s dream and it’s a Star Wars fan’s dream as there is so much going on inside. It displays details and famous scenes from across the original trilogy and it has the minifigures, 38 in total, to fill the different sections and recreate some of the most iconic scenes from the saga.

You do get a lot of Lego for your money, as you’d hope, with details including the Emperor’s Throne Room, the trash compactor room, the tractor beam that Obi-Wan deactivates, the hangar and more. Features include a fully functioning elevator, the moving walls of the trash compactor room and a retractable floor in the room where Luke and Leia make their escape. Minifigures include multiple versions of Luke Skywalker and Han Solo, Princess Leia, Darth Vader, the Emperor, C3PO, R2D2, Chewbacca, Stormtroopers and more. And, of course, over 9,000 pieces in total.

The sheer size and level of detail in everything that’s going on in this set make it a centerpiece model to behold. But, with it being so large, you will need a lot of space to display it. It could also be criticized for not being a complete Death Star, as it’s just a slice of it. But, imagine how big it would be, and how many pieces you would need, if a set of this detail and with this many features were a complete model rather than just a look inside?

It’s the biggest UCS set in terms of dimensions, piece count and the number of minifigures. And, it’s very nearly the best. This set is only really suitable for collectors and mega fans out there.

3. UCS X-Wing Starfighter

There’s a lot to like about the Lego Star Wars UCS X-Wing starfighter. In short, it’s considerably less expensive than the two sets above and is comparatively one of the more affordable sets in the UCS range. It’s also an iconic ship with a striking look, and the size of it means it can be a centerpiece model or a very impressive part of a collection.

We love the iconic design, the detail and that it’s a great co-op build following our UCS X-Wing review. This is purely a display piece as it doesn’t have a lot of playable features. Sure, it has space for the R2D2 figure and an opening cockpit that can fit the Luke Skywalker minifigure inside. But that’s kind of the extent of it. Having said that, the detail, the aesthetic and the quality of the integrated stand and display plaque make this a great display set, worthy of showing off to anyone you like.

If you’re to criticize this set, you only get two minifigures, R2D2 and Luke Skywalker. Then again, it wouldn’t make much sense to have any other, seeing as this is purely a display set. With fewer than 2,000 pieces, there’s considerably less to it than the sets above. But with that, it also means the build isn’t as time-consuming and is therefore less conducive to frustration.

4. UCS Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser

At number four in our list of the best UCS Lego Star Wars sets: Ranked, we have another behemoth, a 5,000-plus-piece glorious spaceship that we absolutely love, following our UCS Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser review.

There’s a lot to like, especially if you’re looking for a monster to be the centerpiece of your collection. With dimensions of 43 x 21 x 13 inches (length x width x height) and a price point of around the $650 mark, it’s less expensive than the UCS Millennium Falcon and the Death Star, but has the size to match. With 5,374 pieces, it also has the piece count to keep you entertained for days on end.

Again, as this is a huge set with lots of pieces to it, and another aimed at collectors, there’s no hiding from the price tag. And for this, we would have loved to have seen an opening hangar and perhaps a few more minifigures. Despite this, if you’re willing to invest, you’ll have a Lego set that offers stunning detail, a striking look and is worthy of being the centerpiece of any Lego Star Wars collection.

5. UCS Jabba’s Sail Barge

If you’re looking for something in between the monsters you see in this set and something that would fit neatly on a shelf, this could be it. Equally, if you’re looking for a Lego Star Wars UCS set that’s truly unique, this is definitely it.

With dimensions of 30 x 15 x 10 inches, it’s hard to describe the UCS Jabba’s Sail Barge as anything other than a display set, but it does have some cool features. The sides can be folded down to expose the detailed interior, which includes the cockpit, armory, kitchen, prison cell and Jabba’s bed. The sails can be removed to reveal the top deck, too.

The selection of minifigures is another standout with this set. You get 11 in total, which includes a Jabba Lego figure. Others included are R2-D2, C3PO, Bib Fortuna and Princess Leia in that outfit from Return of the Jedi. Our only real gripe with this set is the price tag, but then again, it is very unique and comes with nearly 4,000 pieces.
