In this episode, Dave Eicher invites you to observe a close meeting of the Moon and the brightest star in the constellation Scorpius the Scorpion, Antares. This celestial meet-up will take place on the evening of October 7. You won’t need binoculars or a telescope to view it, although binoculars may give a more pleasing view. Head out an hour after sunset and look toward the southwest. You’ll spot the thin crescent Moon first. Antares will be the only bright star nearby.
